Question by ryan: Why does my “macbook” pro not get wifi from my verizon wireless modem/router?
recently got my macbook pro and i already had my modem/router connected to a Windows desktop. I can get a connection using an Ethernet cord, but that’s it.

Airport is on, the model name on it was GT704WG. Its a Wireless DSL Modem/Router. If you need more information, please ask and tell me how to find it.

You may have to go in an activate the wireless features on your router. I have seen a trend that some wireless routers ship with the wireless capability turned off for security purposes. The link below goes to the site where you can download the user manual in a PDF format. Read through the manual, but page 54 talks about setting up the wireless functionality.
